Smart Phone Linked AC and Appliances
Panasonic announced a line of wired home appliances controlled via a smart phone app, including a Wi-Fi air conditioner that can be set from outside the home, and a washing machine that downloads wash cycles for different detergents.
The company's new X-Series air conditioners feature a special wireless adaptor that connects to a home network. Additional new devices, including washing machines, refrigerators, scales and blood pressure monitors, use NFC (near field communication) technology to interact with Panasonic's Android app. The new products are to go on sale in Japan over the next three months.
