Grancrete

Grancrete is a tough, lightweight, fast-curing ceramic material that was developed by the Argonne National Laboratory and Casa Grande LLC. The ceramic is sprayed onto a core material - typically a thin polystyrene board - and then aluminum or steel stiffeners are strategically added resulting in a durable but lightweight panel that can be completed on-site in a very short time period. The strength of Grancrete is comparable to traditional concrete, and it is environmentally friendly as well. It is composed of 50% sandy or sandy soil, 25% ash, and 25% binding material (the binding material is made up of magnesium oxide and potassium phosphate).

Grancrete was developed to provide fast, adequate and inexpensive housing in developing nations throughout the world. It is a relatively new product that is looking to expand its market share.
