The "Truth Window" and AtticWrap™
Here we see the "truth window" in the great room. So visitors won't have to take our word on the true construction of the home - they'll see it first-hand. This window will serve as a "tour stop" on the audio tour we're setting up in the house, where visitors will see and hear about the innovative technologies. The window provides a cut away through the drywall, insulation, wood framing, weather barrier, siding insulation and ends at the Autumn Red siding.
The tour will also be available on-line in the near future on the Concept Home website. The backbone of the tour will be the audio tour stops recorded by builder Fernando Pages. Chief Architect has created high impact renderings of the home to guide users through the tour. The renderings help on-line viewers visualize the design elements in the home from many perspectives - including the "doll house" view we see here.
Upstairs in the bonus room visitors will get a glimpse of the AtticWrap used to protect and enhance the efficiency of the home. The bonus room is located over the garage and can be finished by the homeowner when they need additional space. This is a great strategy to keep a home's price affordable but still offer future options to homeowners as they grow.
Featuring American Polysteel's innovative pre-assembled ICF panels integrated with Corsella-Dörken's Delta®-MS Clear waterproof membrane, and equipped with a Wellcraft egress system.
Faster. Better. Safer. These Concept Home objectives are exemplified by Millard Lumber's Turnkey Building Solutions, which combines materials and labor into one package.
Much more than a heat pump and some metal ducts, the HVAC in this home relies upon a systems-design approach that accounts for how the house works as an integrated whole.
The insulation backed siding and exterior trim are installed creating a truly amazing home.
The Concept Home has a state-of-the-art system, featuring an efficient design, water-conserving components, and innovative technologies which show how we'll manage water in the future. And while each individual product is great on its own, together they create an integrated system greater than the sum of its parts.
With durable interior wall coverings and the mechanicals neatly tucked into a centralized core, it's easy to visualize how the Concept Home can adapt over time. |
