Mike Moore - Research Associate

Mike Moore is a professional engineer and technical consultant with over 12 years of experience in technology transfer and demonstration, building and energy codes and standards, product development, and RD&D of energy efficient and durable buildings and systems. In projects related to energy efficiency, his work has involved simulations and modeling to assess baseline and improvement scenarios, in-situ energy testing and monitoring, and working with clients to refine specifications in cost-effective manners to achieve performance goals.

Before joining Newport, he was employed by the NAHB Research Center, from 2001 to 2004, and NextWave Energy, a renewable energy consulting firm, from 2000 to 2001. With these companies, he has focused on improving the processes and products related to durable, renewable, or energy efficient buildings and systems. Through serving clients in manufacturing, associations, non-profits, government, and building, he has become adept with actively listening, developing solutions, training, and communicating critical information to various groups. Specializations include energy management, green building, building codes and standards, ventilation and indoor air quality, renewable energy, building durability, and building affordability.

Mr. Moore is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a voting member of ASHRAE 62.2, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings, and ASHRAE 90.2, Energy Efficient Design of Low-Rise Residential Buildings.
